Leading companies in the medical technology sector from Taiwan impress with innovative
product developments

Düsseldorf, September 25, 2024 – For the first time, companies from Taiwan’s medical technology sector have showcased their innovative products under the Taiwan Excellence umbrella at REHACARE, the international leading trade fair for rehabilitation, prevention, integration, and care. The press conference, organized by the International Trade Administration of Taiwan (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), provided exciting insights into pioneering products in the fields of smart rehabilitation, supportive care, and mobility aids on the very first day of the fair. Highlights include the world’s narrowest rehabilitation power wheelchair, the only self-regulating, breathable pressure-relief cushion, and an innovative training device that allows users to share their progress directly on social media. Visitors at the Taiwan Excellence booth can also enjoy an interactive program focused on fitness and health.

In his welcome speech, Ching-Ting Hung, Director of the Economic Division at the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, emphasized Taiwan’s significant position in the medical technology industry. “We aim to become an indispensable partner for buyers in the EU and worldwide,” Hung underscored. Wolfgang Tang, Project Manager from the Taiwan Trade Center, added an overview of the latest advancements in Taiwan’s healthcare industry, highlighting sustainable technologies and new research trends.

Innovative Product Presentations

The press conference was themed “Empowering Self-determined Living with Taiwan Excellence.” The Taiwan Excellence Award is a symbol of top quality and innovative design. Products bearing this symbol are selected through a rigorous evaluation process for their outstanding performance in research and development, design, quality, and marketing.

Biotech Originality Study’s Dynamic Spring Gel Mattress and Gel Cushion: Spencer Hsu, Project Manager at Biofast Biotech Originality Study, introduced the Dynamic Spring Gel Mattress and Gel Cushion. “The Dynamic Spring Gel Mattress is the only self-regulating, pressure-relieving, and breathable cushion in the world. The Dynamic Spring Gel Cushion is made of environmentally friendly, carbon-reducing materials,” Hsu explained.

Golden Smart Home Technology’s PERFECT TEN Training Device: Nora Lin, Director of the Marketing & Sales Division at Golden Smart Home Technology, spoke about the PERFECT TEN training device. “With this device, you can train ten muscle groups simultaneously. One of its key features is the ability to send training reports via social media,” Lin elaborated.

Axcel Rehabilitation Power Wheelchair with Front-Wheel Drive: Frank Robertson, UK Country Manager at Merits Health Products, demonstrated the world’s narrowest rehabilitation power wheelchair with front-wheel drive. “The design of the Axcel Rehabilitation Power Wheelchair is inspired by a sports car,” Robertson noted. He also highlighted its special features: “The push system for the backrest is optimized, as well as the extension of the electric footplate.”

Interactive Experiences

The first-ever presence of Taiwan Excellence at REHACARE was celebrated with an extensive interactive program focused on fitness and health topics. Trade fair visitors participated in yoga and relaxation classes, which included relaxation exercises, providing a varied break. The yoga and relaxation classes will be held every day of the fair, from September 26 to 28, at 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM at the Taiwan Excellence booth (Hall 1, Booth A87). Adding to the fun, a well-known airbrush artist was on-site to customize giveaways like T-shirts. The airbrush activity also takes place every day from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Several prize-winning contests with attractive prizes are also offered.

REHACARE 2024 provides a unique opportunity to discover the advanced products and visionary leaders of Taiwan’s medical technology sector.

In total, eleven Taiwanese companies are showcasing 14 groundbreaking products at REHACARE, including fitness and rehabilitation equipment, power wheelchairs, scooters, and exoskeletons that enhance mobility and physical strength.

REHACARE 2024 takes place from Wednesday, September 25 to Saturday, September 28, at Messe Düsseldorf.
