Taiwan’s leading medical technology companies present intelligent surgical systems and advanced diagnostic tools
Düsseldorf, November 11, 2024 – Taiwan has marked a historic milestone at MEDICA 2024, establishing itself as Asia’s third-largest and the world’s sixth-largest exhibiting country at the world’s premier medical trade fair. Over 300 Taiwanese enterprises are showcasing their innovations at Messe Düsseldorf from November 11-14. Taiwan’s robust technology ecosystem, access to extensive healthcare data, and strong government support are positioning the island as a key player in the global medical sector, particularly in precision medicine.
Taiwan Excellence pavilion features 28 innovative products from 17 award-winning companies, focusing on intelligent medical solutions and surgical applications. On the opening day, TAITRA Chairman James C. F. Huang hosted the Taiwan Excellence press conference, highlighting Taiwan’s strong economic growth and notable progress in medical technology: “Taiwan is home to industry pioneers leading advancements in artificial intelligence. By combining AI with our manufacturing expertise, we’re generating unparalleled innovations in healthcare, particularly in precision medicine and advanced diagnostics,” Huang stated. “Our presence at MEDICA 2024 reflects Taiwan’s dedication to advancing healthcare with AI-driven applications and high-precision engineering.”
At the press conference titled “AI-Powered Surgeons: The Best Made in Taiwan,” four premier Taiwanese companies presented groundbreaking products. Gokhan Zorlubas, Business Development Manager at Brain Navi Biotechnology, introduced an AI-powered surgical system aimed at enhancing surgical accuracy and improving patient outcomes. “Our company is a leader in surgical robotics in Taiwan, focusing on neurosurgery solutions that enhance precision and safety,” Zorlubas remarked.
Vanessa Wu, Product Marketing Manager at MicroBase Technology Corporation, showcased the LoyalCare nebulization system, a groundbreaking innovation in airway care. “MicroBase specializes in technologies such as jet plates, microneedles for drug delivery, and micro-nebulization for inhaled medications. We are also developing AI-powered respiratory stimulation to improve treatment efficacy,” Wu explained.
Robers Luo, Marketing Manager at Aplus Biotechnology, presented a 3D-printed guide plate for osteotomies, designed to personalize orthopedic procedures. “At Aplus, we develop medical devices with a focus on bone materials, collaborating closely with medical professionals. Our goal is to expand globally to help patients worldwide,” Luo shared.
Finally, Chin Shook Leng, Manager at EndoSemio, demonstrated a wireless endoscope tracheotomy kit for minimally invasive procedures. “Our company specializes in image-guided endoscopes and biocompatible tubing. We also offer respiratory catheters for neonatal care and flexible ureteroscopes for urological procedures,” Leng said.
